Living in Louisiana, we don't really have a "falling into fall," it's either really hot or really cold! Last year, for example, we went from the blazing heat and humidity, to a little bit of wind, then a freakin' ice storm! Although it's not time to bring out the boots and fluffy jackets, it is going to get a lot cooler...
So here are my essentials for the fall:
Leggings/Jeggings:
To be honest, I wear these year round! They just keep you comfortable all day, but the Fall and Winter seasons are the most appropriate time of the year to sport these! I get my leggings and jeggings from Wal-Mart. They range from $5 to $12! For those of you who haven't heard the term "jeggings," it literally stands for "jean leggings."
Flannels:
I love flannels, especially long, plaid ones. They cover your bum and keep you warm. I got these from Wal-Mart for only $9 each!
Oversized Sweaters/Cardigans:
YASS! I love these things! They are like a socially acceptable blanket you can wear all day! I got the cream ones from thrift stores for only less than $5! The blue one, however, is from Abercrombie, but I got it on sale for $15!
Nail Polish:
My favorite, cheap brand for nail polish is Sinful Colors. They have a whole variety and only cost a $1.99! My favorite shades to wear in the fall are the darker pinks and reds.
Candles:
Bath and Body Works always has those 2 for $20 sales, no matter what the season! Sure, it's a little pricey for candles, but if you get a fall scent and a spring scent, you'll be set for the year! Those things last me forever! It cannot be fall without them. They really set the mood!
Neutral Purses:
Time to put away those bright and colorful purses, and to whip out your fall purses! I love brown cross-body bags. The one shown here is my Antonio Melani bag on the far right, which is my go-to purse! It was pricey, but the middle brown bag is from Forever 21 for only $8!
Lipsticks/Lip Butters:
I don't know if you can tell, but I love lip products. The best for the fall are the Revlon Lip Butters because they prevent chapped lips. NYC and Wet-n-Wild have really cheap, decent lipsticks of all shades. Lip butters are about $6 each but I think they are worth it - it's like a Chapstick and lip stick in one!
